Bolivia with Rachel

Rachel is in Santa Cruz this year. it was good to see her and her co Donna :-)
At the City Plaza ,Pretending to do the shoe shine:-)

In a little tourist shopping strip

The little girl to the left lost her mum at Christmas time in a car accident. Unfortunately they don't use seat belts!

At our Hotel, we had lots of visits to the pool
We also did lots of relaxing :-)
And we had lovely Breakfasts:-)

Rachel's present bach, her room is the 1 directly behind her

Donna cooked us a lovely lunch:-)

We caught up on our washing:-0

I'm not sure of the tree's name but they were beautiful
We went for a couple of days out to Chapare to visit Betty. It worked out that 1 of the friends died the morning we were going out so we went to her funeral

The main road goes straight thru the Jungle area of Chapare, we're off to do some visits with Rachel

Heading up to the Blind Ladies Place

It was her sister who had died and funeral we'd be going to later.

Looking back to where we had stayed the night. we're standing on the road where there is a constant roar of trucks as they go past

The funeral procession

When we got to where she was to be buried her family were still making her Tomb

They covered it over when it was all finished as it was still wet

Out at Chapare there's beautiful vegetation

Our toilet and shower, the hose ran from the little tub to the right of the shower

Having breakfast we had eggs bread porridge and a thick warm fruit drink
Our room for the couple of  nights

With Betty who we'd gone out to visit
A loaded car passing us! 3 in the front maybe 4 in the middle and some in the boot! And then 1 time we had a couple of guys with their legs hanging over the back as we're zooming along the open road! Unbelievable! All with the windows down so you can imagine the hair styles:-)

We were heading off down the road to a visit

These little girls made friends with Lew:-)They've had a baby brother since.

Lew was able to eat these little buns in Bolivia that were made out of Tapioca and cheese. Then he's smiling as he's drowned it in Dulce de Leche the cameralised condensed milk they have in South America :-)

At Lidia's place for Birthday morning tea for Daisy who had just arrived from Peru. Lidia  met Jen in China she's in the red.

Having a ride in a Bolivian Boy Racer on the way to the meeting! They have all the stickers and looks as if they are boy racer cars but that's where the likeness ends:-)

Selling products at the lights is usual. Everyone drinks lots of fizz and coloured drinks !

Hanging meat as we drove by

Walking out to 1 of our reads

Do you see the cat if you can call it that looking down at Lew? Well I was sitting on that chair and next thing it landed on my hair! I think I let out a squeal!:-)

How's that for a cot? The next week when we arrived there was a sheet covered right over it. When I looked closer it was going up and down so knew the baby was having a snooze, when a few spots of rain came in they wheeled it out of the rain:-)

Lew saw only 1 car with the steering wheel changed to the left hand side this time. They change the foot pedals as well

This sight could in in Bangladesh too?
Rachel at their bench

Washing the dishes at Rachel's bach, it's the 1st time I haven't used warm water! They put some bleach into it though:-)

We went out for lunch and Lew spoke 1 or 2 words in Spanish so this little girl thought he'd be a good  playmate for schools:-) It was pretty funny as they tried to communicate. She was bossing him around:-) Letting him know if he wasn't saying the words right!

It rained for the last couple of days so we discovered they don't have the best drainage systems:-)

Waiting for our lift, you can see how the water just sat!

Having some Bolivian cakes and drinks after the meeting
At the airport having a drink before we said bye to Rachel and Donna

Bye for now. Thanks very much Rachel for sharing your time with us :-) We enjoyed it:-)
