Our lunch stop after paddling for 4 hrs into a head wind. When we left from here the wind had gone up to about 20 knots and the waves were that big that the other kayak and flag disappeared behind the waves. We had to abort the plan to go to Russell as wind wasn't being kind

I like it how you have annotated the picture 'first strokes of many' when in the photo you aren't actually paddling, was this a foretaste for the rest to come? ;)
